| Ok I know we had one on Glock Silencers but since there are several people on here now that have an educated background with metal work I was wondering if I can get some input on how much you think the fair price for a silencer should be ie overhead costs and profit. And maybe steps leading up to the total cost. Thanks hopefully this will put some closer on a debate I been having with another member! | |

ok, when a link doesnt work for you, check the link to see if it makes sense or if the forum software has simply not included the entire path for the hyper link. for example, the *'s in the above link make this forum think that hyperlink is finished, which its not, you might ACTUALY have to copy and past the entire link ( if it ends in .html, that should give you a hint to the full path of the link) -2 pts for your inabilty to solve such a simple problem. you took the typical american aproach, try it once and give up, though I apreciate that aproach because its the sole reason I'm currently imployed and make as much as I do. | |

| it depends, you can find someone who is certified to make them and they can make them cheep, the best priced suppressor i have found is the tactical innovations tac 65, its a .22 can and is made of aluminum and works quite nice for $245, thats the best bang for you're buck in my opinion | |

| I would say 245$ is right in the sweet spot for a silencer, I would even say 300$ would be the upper end of reasonable. you start getting into 600 and 1000$ and thats just a rip off. I typically dislike any weapon parts that are made from aluminum unless its a magazine. There is no reason it cant be made from stainless steel or inconel for 300$ all inconel is is stainless with cromium mixed in, I would think a 75$ premium would be resonable to upgrade to inconel but not 800$ lol, that is just over hyping a metal that sounds "exotic" to pad your wallet, people feed off that stuff all the time, oh its made from "inconel" so it super exotic thats why im pulling your shorts down and ass raping you with out lube lol. I agree inconel is a very good metal for construction but its not a precious metal lol, we sometimes buy pipe made from inconel but its not a 400% peremium lol. I guess if you were making it out of solid gold I could see a steep premium Anyways im off my soap box, if the silencer makers can find suckers to buy there super duper inconel silencer for a bigillion dollars then more power to them, for a fool and his money are soon parted lol. - articjackal wrote:

| I think that its not in the costs of the material but more so with the costs of labor associated with working with the type of metal and thats kinda why I wanted to see if anyone had any input to that after all time is money...and not just if your an engineer or dentist lol. | |
